Here we are bright and early Saturday Morning at the War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste Marie getting ready to start the walk to Rudyard. Standing to my right is Dr. Tom and his sisters, Diane and Susie. To my left is Susie's friend and her daughter who joined us for parts of the walk. The next three pictures were taken at a water stop on our way from Rudyard to St. Ignace on the second day.
Just before we walked the Mac Bridge, t.v. 9 & 10 was there to do an interview with Kate (the mother of Gracie) and to get some shots of us walkers.

Here we are in line waiting for the bridge to open.

Off we go!

Me walking backwards
Me making myself sick by looking at the water.
Here we are at the finish line at the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital! Aside from our team, there was only one other person that completed the entire walk. The four of us arrived at the end about an hour before the others.
We walked at a rate of 4 - 4 1/2 mph the entire walk despite blisters, throbbing muscles, shin splints, upset stomaches, etc.

We didn't sleep much either. I got a grand total of maybe 8 hours of sleep in the 3 nights combined.
It was also hot. By the last day it was around 90 degrees, so we were starting to feel the affects of dehydration.

WOWZERZ! Congratulations!
I seriously don't know if I could have looked down on the bridge. I would have pointed my nose up, pretended to be looking at the sky, and just hope I didn't run into anyone! LOL!
Are you recuperated yet, Kattja?
