My Day on the Farm!

Friday I got to spend a day experiencing Veterinary work and
farm life. It was a really neat and interesting experience...totally awesome day!

Gathering the cattle into the holding pen.

Ryan guarding the gate to stop the cattle from trying to jump it. You will notice the dip in the gate infront of Ryan which happened when one of the cattle tried to bolt during the TB testing.

My job was to mix the drugs and load the syringes as well as fill out paperwork and write the requiered info on the blood tubes that needed to be sent to the lab.

You can just see the excitment written across their faces! ;-))

My buddy, Ferdinand! ;-))

Ryan, Jeff, and Tom

Yummmmm!!

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with foot problems!

Poor baby's not having a good day :-(

Tom bandaging the hoof up nice 'n pretty!

Ouchie!! :-(

Yes, I did get to experience this flung in my face (mouth included!)...sorry, I think everone was too busy laughing to take a pic!

Dennis and Roger hauling in the hay from the fields.

Tom talking to his dad about where to put the feeder for the calves this winter. His dad was doing a bit better with communication for a spell that afternoon, so Tom asked him if he wanted to ride down and see the farm. So, he lifted him into his truck and took him down there for a bit.
